Is the Portafilter not working well?

Are you brewing a long espresso shot?
A bottomless portafilter is designed to work well when used for short shots.
It is always a good idea to keept the original portafilter for longer coffee shots.
Are you topping up the portafilter to its limit?
Bottomless portafilters naturally build less pressure than usual portafilters due to their bottom porous surface.
Therefore, they have to be partially filled to allow for the water to build more pressure than usual before reaching the coffee grounds.
Are you adding the coffee grounds properly?
Bottomless portafilters naturally build less pressure than original portafilters.
Therefore, coffee grounds need to be as fine as possible and have to be compacted with the use of a tamper.
Are you still having issues with the portafilter?
Is your portafilter still squirting coffee everywhere?
Consider using a paper filter between the coffee grounds and the portafilter to help th water flow towards the centre.
